Attorney General Proposed Redactions to "Clergy Abuse In Maryland" Report

BALTIMORE, MD (March 13, 2023) – Per a Court order dated February 24, the Attorney General’s office is submitting today to the Circuit Court for Baltimore City a list of proposed redactions to the Attorney General’s report regarding allegations of sexual abuse in the Baltimore Archdiocese entitled “Clergy Abuse In Maryland.” These proposed redactions include individuals who are living, are accused of abuse, hiding abuse, enabling abuse, assisting in the cover-up of abuse, or protecting abusers from the consequences of their action, and whose identities were revealed as a result of the grand jury subpoenas. The Court must review these proposed redactions before the report may be released to the public. When the release of the report is approved, this office will issue a press release and publish the report to our website at www.marylandattorneygeneral.gov.

Statement from Attorney General Brown on Court's Order Authorizing Release of Redacted “Clergy Abuse In Maryland" Report

BALTIMORE, MD (March 14, 2023) –
Maryland Attorney General Anthony G. Brown today released the following statement:

“We are pleased with the Court’s order this afternoon authorizing release of a redacted version of our report on child sexual abuse by clergy in the Archdiocese of Baltimore. We will work to complete the court-ordered redactions and release the report as expeditiously as possible.”
