Protein Shakes

Back in the saddle
I tried a few of them a couple years back and they were just nasty.

This is why I make my own. I do not get pre-made shakes. Like the muscle milk War is talking of.

I'm not using shakes as a replacement for a meal. I try to stick with the 6 small meals a day. I drink a shake after my workout. I use water instead of milk most times to save on cals.

I'm not using shakes to gain weight, I'm trying to get rid of this little bit of baby weight that's hanging on. I also know that I don't get enough protein some days. I actually should be drinking 2 shakes.

I don't know if it interests you but the Odwalla protien shake is :yum:
Nutrition profile might not be what you want though.

Optimum Nutrition (ON 100% Whey and NitroCore 24) and BSN (Syntha-6) make some tasty protein that doesn't require a lot of extra work to make them... in my opinion.

I must be on my own island with the tuna shakes.............

My lastest concoction (sp?) for weight gain is yummy. I just made it up. THis is how most folks come to find out what they really like. Just experiment!

All ingredients are thrown in the blender at once. I just drink the shake right out of the blender.
(Not when my wife is home though!) :lmao:

- 2 scoops Muscle Milk
- 2 large tablespoons of Skippy Creamy Natural Peanut Butter
- 3 large tablespoons of some high fiber, flaxseed, wheat germ, natural food #### (I forget the brand)
- 1 large banana
- 2 cups of skim milk (We don't buy whole milk or I would use that)
- 1 tablespoon of that honey that comes in the bear container
- handleful of ice

I don't know the exact calories for this shake but it's close to 1200+ I suspect. I have gained 10 lbs in a month so I know it is contributing well.
Damn easy way to get some yummy extra calories!

Oh man this is GREAT! I'm starting out at the first recipe and trying all of them!
My 14 yo just discovered working out and has put on six pounds in two weeks.
He just tried the peach cobbler and loves it. He was getting pretty sick of the old man's recipes.
Thanks!

Where can I find the 100% Whey/Pumpkin Pie flavor or other 100% Whey Protein flavors? I use EAS Choc and Vanilla and a Strawberry from the natural food store in L-town.

I use almond milk in my shakes, flavored and unflavored - but always unsweetened, if that makes sense. I try to add frozen blues, strawberries, raspberries or mixed and a scoop of clear fiber to make it a powerful drink to go.

If I don't have time to blend, etc... I just add Hershey's sugar free chocolate syrup and travel in a shaker cup with it. :yum:

TIA for the scoop on the product info. :howdy:

Congrats again on the win!

I've also been using the EAS whey powder and buy it at Target in the large container. It's about the best price around.
