Second night off in a row. You're acting like you're working hard or something.

I was in the gym last night, buddy. Didn't see you there though!

I got red too, DJ for being a "nasty mofo". It's part of the forum thing. Don't sweat it. Sometimes the karma stuff is really funny!

Hey all,

I've started a new diet and I need advice. I am debating on whether or not I should take protein powder with my fruit smoothies. Some people tell me to go for it while others seem to think it will make me gain weight. Confusing...

TIA

For what it's worth:

The latest Muscle & Fitness compared Casein, Egg, Soy and Whey protein.

Overall, they gave Whey the nod followed by Soy, then Casein and dead last was Egg protein...

Just an extra $.02

there can be health issues with women and soy protein

I thought that was THE protein for women... at least that was the train of thought for so many years.

I prefer whey (fast absorption) and casein (slow absorption).

That is what I thought too, something to do with estrogen.

Protein is protein. #### ranking it. Muscle and Fiction doesn't know ####. M & F pump the public full of these BS articles because the protein supplement companies and M & F sell the stuff! How can you take M & F seriously??

Protein intake should come from all sources and only supplemented if needed. I choose to supplement with protein because I know what works for me. I make recommendations to folks based on similarities between results other folks have gotten. I also try to find similarities in what other trainers are suggesting.

I want to rant more but I have lost interest. Maybe later.

I recently purchased a bag of Syntrax's Matrix 5.0 protein (Cookies & Creme) and I think it may be something you may be interested in. It contains all four protein powders (Whey, casein and egg) so you get both the slow and fast digesting proteins. A 5lb bag runs anywhere from $32-$38 (from what I've seen) and they have a vanilla flavor that would probably suit your fruit smoothies. While I can't comment on the vanilla, their cookies and creme is excellent! :yay:
