"Proud Boy" Terrorist sentenced to 22 years for January 6th planning and attack

What they're saying: "No organization put more boots on the ground at the Capitol on January 6, 2021, than the Proud Boys, and they were at the forefront of every major breach of the Capitol's defenses, leading the on-the-ground efforts to storm the seat of government," said Matthew Graves, U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, in a statement.

Henry "Enrique" Tarrio, former leader of the right-wing extremist group Proud Boys, was sentenced on Wednesday to 22 years in prison for his role in the deadly Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection.

Why it matters: Tarrio's sentencing caps one of the highest-profile prosecutions related to the Capitol riot, and his is the longest sentence handed down in the Jan. 6 cases.

  • The previous highest sentencing record related to Jan. 6 was held by Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes, who was sentenced to 18 years in prison in May.
Flashback: Tarrio was found guilty in May of seditious conspiracy related to Jan. 6, alongside other Proud Boys members. Prosecutors had sought a 33-year sentence for him.

Going by this logic, I guess the White House should be on full alert 24/7. Seeing as they have so many "major breaches" of the President's home each and every day! You know... by those that "breach" the west wing while learning about it's history. :jameo:

I think you

are trying to make sense but none of it does.

Actively defending a group bent on domestic terrorism doesn't make you seem very patriotic.

Nah! I was merely pointing out the FACT that a lot, if not most, of these "breachers" were escorted through the capital building by the very police and guards that were supposed to defend it. Kinda like a guided tour... ya know?

Well considering many of those guards and police have been arrested and found to be members of patriot front or the proud boys it makes no sense.

All you are pointing out is that it was a larger conspiracy.

If you walked into a bank and the security guard allowed you to enter and you then pulled out a gun would you blame the security guard?

Or call it a bank tour?

Hmm. As far as I know, it was ONLY the security guards that pulled out a gun and killed someone in the building but... I digress.

If the security guards actually walked me around the bank and pointed out where the bank vault was then YES, I would definitely blame them. Kinda like what happened on January 6th :yay:

You like living in your fantasy world don't you?

How did the "security guard" simultaneously show Ashli Babbit where the vault was and shoot her?

Why can't you have a single thought that doesn't conflict with your last thought?

The real problem here is that you want to cherry pick events that happened to fit YOUR narrative instead of taking into account the entirety of the day. Fact of the matter is, if the Capital police and Security had done their job in the first place instead of letting these people just walk right by AND giving them an escort into the building, most of the tragic events may not have happened and could have been controlled.

You may as well be talking to a brick wall. They're so far gone into their religion, they can't be reasoned with. I had a good friend like that. Once he tasted the Kool-Aid, it was all over. No amount of proof or reasoning can sway his thinking. Good luck, but I see it as a major waste of resources.

I thought you said it was antifa?

What tragic events.

Now you admit it was not just a peaceful protest?

Many of the cops were in on it having fallen for the same lies Trump made up that the rest of you fell for.

It's true.

You've been shown hundreds of times the election was fair and yet because an orange snake oil salesman tells you to protest you do it.

What flavor of Kool aid is that? Orange juice ?

Where did I say it was antifa? In fact, where did I say anything about who was there that day?

Tragic events indeed. Totally avoidable if the personnel HIRED to protect the Capital actually did their jobs. But hey.. at least they didn't have ot face ANY repercussions for their negligence.

When did I say it was a peaceful protest? It was obviously NOT. Duh! However, that does not excuse the FACT that the main cause of the majority of the violence rests with the police and guards who's job it was to keep them out and not escort them into the building.

Sounds like conspiracy theory to me. Like you ALWAYS say... you keep saying these things but NEVER show any proof in your work.

It's clear many in law enforcement also believed Trumps lies as many of the people arrested that day were officers

This Capitol police officer was arrested for helping attackers to cover up evidence from that day

I am glad to see someone admits that what happened that day was tragic as many on here continue to insist it was a peaceful protest.

Please see the articles below to inform yourself of the dead involvement of many of the officers with these terrorists groups.

A veteran officer with the U.S. Capitol Police was arrested Friday for allegedly encouraging a suspect in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot to hide evidence of their involvement in the attack. He is facing two counts of obstruction of justice, and has been placed on administrative leave while the case is ongoing.

The officer, Michael Angelo Riley, has worked for the Capitol Police for nearly 25 years, the department told NPR, and most recently served as a technician with the K-9 unit.
