If someone proclaimed some "fiery rhetoric" to you and inspired (mind you I said inspired, NOT directly told you to do so) you to break into a bank after hours AND the night security guard pointed out where the money is and guided you through...
Would you REALLY blame the guy with the "fiery rhetoric?"
I would think he is not culpable or, at the very least, the least culpable of all.
You have one groups JOB that was to protect. Another groups actions to rebel. Any finally, another person who said some words.
You think the words guy is totally to blame?
It was not fiery rhetoric.
It was deliberate lies to get people to attack the capitol to stop Pence form certifying the election.
First Trump tried to give Pence a series of fake electors. When Pence refused to use them in place of the actual electors Trump escalated his attacks blaming Pence for not "doing the right thing" depsite what he wanted Pence to do would go against the constituion.
He then told people to amrch to the capitol to save their country and stop the streal.
None of which was true and Trump knew it.
The attack was poorly planned and carried out by idiots but it was no less an attempted coup. They set up a gallows and wanted to hang Pence and Pelosi.
The more you make excuses for Trump under the guise of free speech the more you degraded the Constitution and our country.
