Okay, So how many of you are going out to get the new PS3 in a couple of weeks?? My hubby is set on getting one and I am thinking he is nuts. The damn thing is $600. I do not think it is worth the $600, however my hubby thinks that it is a steal because it has the bluray DVD set up.. Then you have the new Wii by Nintendo. Kids want that one but hubby wants PS3. Looks like I am going to be broke yet another Christmas...

My ds is 16 and he wants one. The only way he will get it is if that is his only christmas present from us and other family and I'm sure he wouldn't want that. He has the regular xbox and ps2. Thankfully my husband isn't into video games. My sister-in-laws brother-in-law works where they make a chip or something for psp3 because at their wedding 2 or so years ago he told me they were working on it. I wish he could get us one but I doubt it.

That's a good idea. I purchased one of the 10th anniversary Elmo dolls the day they came out, not knowing what a hit they would be. I'm waiting until December to put him on eBay.

A PS3 will have the highest resale value on Ebay the day it goes on sale. I plan on waiting in line to buy one then do a 24 hour auction on ebay. If you wait longer Sony will keep shipping units and the supply will rise. The people who are willing to pay the very high prices want it as close to the release date as possible.

People were selling xbox 360s on ebay for 1000-1200 dollars on ebay the first day they went on sale. Not bad for somthing that only cost 400.

If the PS3 doesn't takeoff like anticipated, Sony is going to be hurting. Honestly, I don't think it will matter if Blu Ray becomes the new format. I think the PS3 will be a success because of the hardware and software titles.

Now I just need a $1000 to get a XBox 360 and PS3.

If I don't want it have 30 days to return it to Best Buy. There is no risk.

Every console that I can think of has sold out the first day of launch. Most of the time they sell out in less than a few hours.

While that may be true, I've also seen outrageously priced items on eBay just before Christmas because every child wants one!! If you can get two, that might be the way to go. Sell one now and keep one for a few weeks.

i would wait until after the new year, because 1 i'm sure the price will go down just a tad, and you don't really want the first shipment because there are always recalls and glitches when they first come out, i would tell him to suck it up and wait LOL

I tried to tell him to wait but he is being a big baby.. He tells me that I need to learn how to be patience, HA, he need to take his own advise as well.. He is giving my 101 reasons of why we need ( HE needs) the damn thing. he is on this stupid kick and he is also on the Bose surround sound system. Told me yesterday that we wants the lifestyle 38(?). I told him if he gets that I would kick his a** from here to Egypt... He needs that and the PS3 like he needs a hole in the head.. MEN!!!!!!!
