Abby and Tom Trossbach will probably be doing their Halloween thing on St Jerome's Neck Road in Dameron.

We have been going to Miller Farms in PG but after my recent experience with the PG Traffic Courts, i'll be trying my best NOT to spend any money in PG county. Police lie and their traffic judges (one at least) are f'ing looney.

So you really think that by not going to some independant farmer, where you have been before and seemingly enjoyed it, that will have any impact whatsoever on the local government?

Not sure how old your kids are but Serenity Farms in Hughesville has Kasper's Kastle.

I have taken my kids here for the last few years but I think this will be it. They never seem to change anything about it year after year. Hayride up to the petting farm. Petting farm to the Kastle. Face-paint, hay bale maze, pick your pumpkin, and head back to your car. Same animals, same characters, same maze. I think it's fine for younger kids but I think my 6 and 9 year olds were "over it". Next year, we're going to Bowles Farm. It costs the same as Kaspers but it seems have more stuff to do.

I went there Sunday for the first time and we loved it. I took my youngest grandson..he's 4..and my great nephew is 6. We had a great time. I can see where kids 10 or so might not like it after seeing it before. That said, it's a great time and Serenity does a very nice job!

I have always done Bowles Farm, but I think we are going to skip it this year. $10 for admission, for 5 people, cash or check only, pumpkins extra. And of course there are also concessions. It just adds up to be expensive to walk through corn. I realize there are significant costs involved in operating a Farm of this size, and $10 per person is probably fair, just starts to add up for families.

It is fun, don't get me wrong - we do love going. They have the big maze, little maze for kids, petting zoo (well, animals in pens), tractor train ride, wagon rides, and a play area.

Recommend you remember to have cash/check ready before you go.

We went for the pumpkins only, so we didn't pay the cover charge. But then again, we are on friendly terms with the owners and knew we wouldn't take advantage.

I went there Saturday for the first time and we loved it. I took my youngest grandson..he's 4..and my great nephew is 6. We had a great time. I can see where kids 10 or so might not like it after seeing it before. That said, it's a great time and Serenity does a very nice job!

We went Sunday and yes, it was fun and as always Serenity did a great job but after going so many years in a row, we need something different. I like the fact that you can go at your own pace. You don't have to wait for the slow pokes if you don't want to. You can either catch a ride on the tractor or you can walk up to the next stop if you want.

I do like getting pumpkins from the farms - they do not rot the second you open them! Plus, love watching the kids run around looking at EVERY pumpking finding the perfect one.

My youngest is going on a field trip to Clark's Elioak Farm today. It looks like a really fun place for kids. CEF

I was there Saturday with my little man and my Mom, who was visiting from out of town. We had a great time and will definitely go back next year. My son is her only grandbaby so it was special for her. I agree that they do a very nice job and the guy we paid was the nicest guy ever.

That was fun to watch. It was my son's first time going to a pumpkin patch and he went to a few pumpkins and picked them up before bringing one over to me. Who thought a 19 month old would be so picky? :killingme

I talked to somebody yesterday that said it took them 6 hours to get through the maze at Bowles Farm. Is that normal or are they just directionally challenged?

Spider Hall farm is cool, on 231 Calvert side with an awesome view back to the pumpkin patch. Big corn maze too. I like it more than Serinity.
