puppy biting

Are you pulling away and make a high-pitch "Ouch, that hurt" or something to that effect when she bites you? That is a reward to her or a game. To solve this, when the puppy bites you DO NOT pull away (even if it hurts). When she bites your hand or leg, stay still, get in her face and say "OUCH" in a deep, manly type voice. Now here is the important part: As soon as she takes her mouth off of you say "Good" to mark the correct behavior and then treat. Within a few tries, she'll learn that she can get treats if she doesn't bite you.

To make this work, you must be consistent. Good luck and let me know if that helps.

Awww your pup is adorable!!

When our little guy would play bite I would simply push his lip over his teeth when he was going to town on my hands so it pinched him when he bit down. Id then offer him a chew toy instead. He learned real fast that biting isnt very much fun. Any kind of reprimand seemed to fire him up more when he was in that mode LOL!
Never tried the shaker can but I'll remember to try it whenever we get a new addition.
Good luck!

Biting

Everytime she bites you, pin her on her back and don't let her up until she relaxes and stops the behavior. In the wild that is what the pack leader would do. Depending on her age, she is probably teething. Kongs are great indestructible toys.

As far as the potty issues. Keep her leashed to you so she can't run off and have an accident in another room. You will then start to pick up on her getting antsy and circling and you can take her outside. It is not her fault if she has an accident in another room and you can't punish her for it but it will be too late and she won't understand why she's being punished. The crate shouldn't be used as punishment. Not sure if you are using it for that reason or not. Crate training is great. Puppies also have to go outside 15-20 minutes after eating. That may help you as well.

Good luck, she will get it.

We only use the crate when we are not able to watch her like when we sleep at night or if we have to do stuff upstairs we don't want her eating the house if you see what I mean. WE always praise her for getting in and give her a treat and say good girl. She is getting better about the door being shut at first she freaks out but after about 5min she lays down and is quiet til she hears someone walking down the stairs then she starts in again.

We figured out today why she has to pee so much shes got the startings of a bladder infection the vet gave us pills today so we should hopefully be better soon. I also was told to crate her overnight but nobody has a room downstairs or near where we can hear her starting to cry so I guess we will be getting another crate and puttin her in my room but I am not sure what my mom and stepdad are going to do as of yet as they don't really want the dog upstairs as I have 2 cats that deathly afraid of the puppy. The vet says she should be able to hold it for 5hrs now but she is unable to hold it past 2 to 3 because of what she has going on. I am hoping in the next few weeks she starts holding it most of the night so i can get 4hrs of sleep but we'll have to wait and see what happens with her infection.

OH and by the way today my vet even started to call bruno a boy and we had to say shes a female..She said you will have to forgive me if I call the dog a boy and I said talk to my stepdad about that one and he was there and just laughed and said I know.
