Question about babysitting

Yeah, okay.
I wouldn't ask for the extra money. You said you were "helping" her out. Besides, she might offer you the extra money anyway. Just wait and see what she does. If she doesn't offer you more money, but then asks again in a couple of weeks, then maybe say something to her.

:yeahthat:
You do realize you're getting $3.52 an hour, right?
I'd charge at LEAST $5/hr for every extra hour you're working. That is basically time + 1/2.

I agree. :yeahthat:
You should def ask for an additional $5 per hr for anything over and above the original agreement. I realize you consider her a "past co-worker/friend" but watching her child is a "business agreement" not a "favor". BTW: I hope you aren't providing drinks and snacks ... if so, your measly $3.52 an hr isnt making you any money.

Hey dipsh*t, since this is the southern MARYLAND forums, I figured you were asking about MD. That being the case, I mentioned MD laws. Then I saw that your dumb arse is in VA and not in MD. I then edited my post to reflect that. I did give you an educated answer. Not my fault you are dumb enough to ask about a VA topic in a MD forum.

I just spewed pepsi all over my desk. :killingme

Yes, I am doing her a favor...and yes the extra income is good.

my definition of doing a favor for someone is doing something out of the kindness of my heart - not worrying about my monetary compensation. I think you need to reconsider your situation – are you doing her a favor then don’t worry about the extra hour for just one week – if you are providing her a service then you need to have an agreed upon payment for set terms and spell all situations out up front.

Boy you people make things difficult. You've been on these forums HOW long and you don't know this is going to happen? Regardless of whether I am in Va or not..Being in Virginia or not is important, what you are doing would be illegal in Maryland, it is, however, perfectly legal in Virginia. its taking care of a past co-worker's child. Yes, I am doing her a favor...and yes the extra income is good. I was just wondering what you all thought I should charge her for an extra hour for the rest of this week. Yes, charge her more or next week it'll be another half hour and the week after that another hour, etc. That is all... hunter...go get yourself another girlfriend. Seems like you need some pu$$y. You see, this is where you've gone over the edge. As it happens, you little sh!t, huntr's wife, namely me, is a licensed, legaling operating child care provider in a county with the one of the highest (if not THE highest) percentage of illegal child care providers in Maryland. It's a touchy subject, but I"m glad to know that many, many of the people here on the forums are aware of the problems of illegal chld care and will stand up for those of us who follow the rules and try to do what's right for the chldren. BadGirl... why you gotta be like that? I needed to go and get my nails done girl. Stop trippin. I'll take ya out to dinner next time I come up! mwah*
The State of Maryland just this week, enacted more new regulations for legally operating child care providers, including what essentially amounts to requesting permission of our clients to get a new pet...I'm not talking about giving them a heads up about my new pit bull, I'm talking any pets. I can't get an effing goldfish without putting it in writing.

So Marylanders, look for a new crop of illegal child care providers near you.

Those of you in Virginia, have a  because you can have up to 5 extra children in your home and the state won't care.

last I checked, she was looking for an answer about a question that had nothing to do with the laws regarding daycare. you were just trying to be an ass and saying she's doing something illegal. she wasn't starting anything in this thread, so why not wait til she starts something in FC to jump on her.
