My co-worker was there about 2 weeks ago and said their a/c wasn't working. We'd like to go there after work but not if it's hot inside. I've been trying to call for about an hour with no answer. Does anyone have any info on this? Have you been recently? TIA.

I've been there before. I had the enchiladas verdes and they had more flavor than the ones at Salsa's or Montereys.

Ok I've never been maybe I'll give it a shot. I would hope the air is operating now in these temperatures

Just got back from lunch there.
The bar area AC is not working and the other side is barely cool.

Friend on FB just said she went today. No air only fans. Forget that. That does not make happy hour happy.

My co-worker only goes to Plaza Tolteca, the one in the old Northridge building in front of that hotel (La Quinta?). I asked the girl on FB is that the place she went to today and she said yes. My co-worker said they had already been waiting 2 weeks for the a/c people to come and that was about 2 weeks ago. She suggested getting a new a/c company. They won't answer the phone so I can't ask myself.

I was there last Friday and it was fine. Are you sure you aren't confusing Plaza Azteca and Plaza Tolteca?

I was thinking the same thing, because Azteca's AC wasn't working recently.

Went there (Azteca) today and it was not very good :boo:

I like Tolteca better but hell no would not go in there with no AC!

yeah, I was incredibly disappointed by Azteca when comparing them to Monterrey. I don't know WHAT happened, it's like they moved buildings and forgot how to function properly.

Tolteca wasn't any better though. :boo:

I think they got "house poor" and are getting cheap.

The Monterrey in Lusby is suffering too. Went last week for dinner. Daughter begged for the cheese dip. It looked like they had taken the skin that forms over it and put it in the bowl. All chunky and nasty. They even got cheaper with the beans. I'm sure the regular stuff is straight out of the can, but these were the canned cheap crap. Nasty. They also don't bring out the white crap with the chips, you have to ask for it.

They may have over spent on the new place, but you don't make up for that by driving away customers.

I don't know what you were expecting since Monterey was terrible to begin with. The food has NO seasoning and the general quality has gone down over the years while the prices have gone up. I wish more people would boycott them so they would bring the food quality back to what it was when they opened.

I think Plaza Tolteca is definitely a step in the right direction as far as Mexican food in this county goes. I have had a few things on their menu ranging from average to very good. The steak ranchero and street tacos are the best things I have had so far. If you just order the plain stuff like beef enchiladas and tacos it tastes like every other lame mexican restaurant (still better than monterey though).
