Question about Plaza Tolteca

I don't know what you were expecting since Monterey was terrible to begin with. The food has NO seasoning and the general quality has gone down over the years while the prices have gone up. I wish more people would boycott them so they would bring the food quality back to what it was when they opened.

I think Plaza Tolteca is definitely a step in the right direction as far as Mexican food in this county goes. I have had a few things on their menu ranging from average to very good. The steak ranchero and street tacos are the best things I have had so far. If you just order the plain stuff like beef enchiladas and tacos it tastes like every other lame mexican restaurant (still better than monterey though).

My favorite is enchiladas verde. They were very good at Monterey's then I started to notice less flavor in the chicken. The ones at Plaza Tolteca have a little bit of a bite to them which I love. I had a couple bites of my daughters fajitas, no bad either.

I was talking service, not food quality. That was never that great. Not BAD, but never great. Just blah.

Oh sorry. I only had one bad experience there involving a coupon. A couple times before that they seemed slower in the service department.

When we moved to SOMD in 2002 Montereys ( when it was in San Souci ) was so good ! such a shame it went downhill ... last time we went it was terrible. It would be so nice to have a really good Mexican place in the area. So, in everyone's opinion ,where would you recommend ?

Went there tonight for dinner and the A/C was working!

Try big mikes taco stand. Pretty good. Best I have had around here. You can order tamales on Friday and pick up the next day. He moves around. I am going to try that next Friday I think.

They move around. Last Friday he was by Raleys Home furnishings. They have a FB page telling where they will be.

I never knew we had one around here. I'm going to check it out. Of course if it always stays in Lexington Park area, I'll never get to eat there. Not enough time to drive down there, order and fight my way back through traffic.
