Question about steaming blue crabs

Supply and demand. If there is no demand, no need to supply. I believe Maryland restricted commercial crabbers last year, so they can't haul in as much. So that's a good thing.

I agree with a restriction!

Don't put too much liquid at the bottom. I don't measure, but I usually put water, beer, and apple cider vinegar in the bottom.

Don't drop the crabs until it's steaming. Once steaming, it should only be about 30 minutes, depending on the size of your pot.

The crabs should be red. Including the claws.

Yes, you can re-steam them assuming it's the same day. I wouldn't re-steam them after a day or more.
