We leave our DSL box on all the time. I don't really think much power is used by it.

That shouldn't be possible unless someone has figured out how to turn your machine on remotely. To my knowlege, that still isn't possible.
I secure my computer each night at work. NMCI starts it back up to do maintenance. It's up and running when I get to work........

Yes but is it a security issue? Still haven't really determined that.
