R/C Helicopters

Stop Staring!!!!!
Anyone else in here into flying R/C Helicopters??

I have recently been bitten by the bug. Bought a couple of the Blade CX2s from Dougs Hobby Shop. Played around with those for a bit and decided those would make excellent X-Mas presents for the boys.

Working on putting together a paln for Building my own now. Likely a T-Rex 450 or 500.

Was wondering if there were any other R/C Heli enthusiasts in the area. And if there are any clubs/groups we might be able to join up with and fly with other R/C Heli folks.

I bought a helicopter for my son a few years ago. Took it for a test run and got it too high in the atmosphere, the wind took it and we never did find it over the woods where we last saw it heading. Never thought about getting another one after getting ticks and chiggers trying to find the first one.

:lmao: Been there done that. Fortunately did find it. Had a broken landing skid though. Was flying it at work at night. A buddy asked how high it would go and I said "I dunno, let's see". Took it up as far as I could see it and must have caught a slight breeze or updraft. It went bye bye. Found it a few hundred yards away. Sitting upright but with a broken skid.

Threw a new landing skid on it, as I had spares in the goody bag, and put it in the air again. Flew like a champ with no adjustments.

The boys are getting 2 Blade CX2s for X-Mas and I am moving up. Looking at one of the T-Rex Helis. Will be taking my time putting thought into it though and doing allot of research. Those things have to be built up and basically come with just the frame and you have to pick and chose everything else to build it with.

Just bought Real Flight G4 Friday and have been playing with that. It is a Flight Simulator geared toward Radio Controlled aircraft. Quite the challenge. I have not flown anything with a tail rotor as yet. Everything thus far has had counter rotating blades. Flying a tail rotor is going to be quite the learning experience if this simulator is accurate at all.

Greenwell State Park, there's R/C members go there to fly thier R/C planes. I can't remember the phone number or the POC. Maybe you can call the Greenwell State Park and they will be able to give you the POC.

TRex

You ever get that T Rex? If not consider a CopterX 450... Nice heli, Trex clone but very good quality. Can use all the TRex parts. Nice birds. Lot less $$ too :).

Bay Hobbies is the name of the place on northbound Rt. 235. Just north of Loveville Rd and south of Laurel Grove.
