Almost forgot one. My kids did this and thought it was the funnest thing ever.

The instructors are absolutly great with the little kids too. They will take hold of them and actually help them fly around the chamber.

I would recommend if you go, to go as soon as they open in the morning. It gets really hot in the wind tunnel later in the day.

The train ride is really cool and it is a beautiful drive to get there.

Ripley's Aquarium is incredible.

You should try and go to the Dixie Stampede one night too. Good food and a great show.

I would also recommend Wonder Works Interactive Museum. The kids will love it.

Our schedule is filled up but I will keep note of these for future trips. Hopefully it won't take another 5 yrs to get back down there.

We're heading back down to Gatlinburg this summer! We had wanted to go somewhere closer to home such as Western MD but the prices for house rentals was WAY above our budget. We can rent a cabin in Gatlinburg for about $800 and the places in Western MD wanted well over $1000. Plus we always have a blast in TN so it didn't take much to decide to go back this year.

I looked through this thread again and made a list of all the places suggested that we didn't get to go last year. We are definately doing the Wonder Works museum as we passed it atleast 20 times and each time, my youngest would say "I wish we could go to the upside down house". I am also looking into Cades Cove, Nantahala Gorge Canopy tours, Lil Ponderosa (for the ATV tours), and Flyaway Indoor Sky-diving.

I had so wanted to try Zorbing but our youngest is one year shy of the minimum age requirement. :ohwell: And we are going tubing this year but we might end up doing another day of rafting as we had a blast last year.

Looks like today will be spent researching the above mentioned activities to see if they are possibilities for our vacation.

We're thinking about going this summer again....though we'd stay in Pigeon Forge. Just trying to decide if we can fit it in the budget. The one thing I regret not doing is the zip line tour! We'd defninitely do that if we go back.

The zip line is out for us. Kids have to be 10 and our youngest will only be 6. :frown: Indoor sky-diving is out too because it's pretty expensive per person.
