Raley's....NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Went to Raley's cause my parents used to shop there, although I heard some bad stuff about them, I thought I'd give them a shot. Big Mistake! Placed an order for $2800 of furniture, waited 10 weeks just to be told the could no longer get those items, they had been discontinued. BUT THATS NOT THE WORST OF IT!!

They told me that I could not get a refund of my deposit!!! I could only use it as a store credit.

Is it just me, or are there others getting as royally screwed by Raley's as me?

That is totally not cool. I bought a bed from them once, years ago. It took them 16 weeks to get it to me! I couldn't understand that - why it takes so long!

I would definately take them to court - just telling them that you are going to might be enough to change their minds. Also, tell them you are reporting them to the better business bureau.

I wouldn't get anything from there if they gave it to me. Thompson's in Hollywood either.

Go to Moores furniture in Hughesville. Northbound side of rt 5 by the beer distributor. They have a showroom but you can order too. I've gotten quite a bit from them and have no complaints. Cash=discount. Or take a ride over to NC furniture on 301. Nice stuff there too!

Unless you buy the floor model, they order the item from the factory. They fill orders in which they're recieved and if some wharehouse place is buying 50 and Rayley's is buying 1, guess which order gets filled first. After the factory builds it, they ship it to Rayley's who then ships it to you. If you don't have the time for this process, go somewhere else.

We've used Thompson's for some things. I learned many a year ago to ask these places if they have the item of interest in stock. If they don't, I walk.

Usta be back in the day us poor county folk didn't have much choice who we purchased our major items thru, unless we drove uptown. Now the sky is the limit. We are no longer restricted due to our geographical location. I recommend Value City Furniture, The Room Store, or the Carolina store just over the 301 bridge. Can't beat their prices, you just have to be flexible when delivery time comes, and scrutinize the furniture when it arrives to your house. If something is wrong, send it back. I have gotten almost my entire house furnished by those stores without much of a hitch. So screw the day we have to accept bad customer service because of where we live. They don't have us over a barrel any longer. :moon:

If it was discontinued, why didn't they know that before you waited so long? Smells funny to me.
Did you sign a contract? Go to one of the owners. Try for a hugh discount if they make you stick to it. :duel: give them heck.

Agreed. Take them to court.
Give the owner one last chance but be sure you talk to the owner. If you don't get immediate results, file a case with Small Claims Court. It only costs about $10 to file the claim and it will get their attention.

My husband and I bought a kitchen table and chairs from them about 8 months ago, I told them when we ordered it, that I would be paying cash, but we were moving so I would need to know when the furniture would be in so that I could plan for the expense at that time, They told me that they would call me the next day, We waited 1 week to hear from them then called them back, It took us 3 more weeks and 3 stops in the store to even find out when the pieces would be in, and when they would wanted to get paid. It was absolutely horrible, and we tell everyone we know not to use them. Sorry about your problems. :(
