Rassie update

A friend recently had her dog put down, and the vet came to their house. She said it was very peaceful and her pup didn't know any differently.

Either way, it's a hard decision to make. :huggy: My Boxer has cancer, and someday soon I may have to let him go.

That wouldn't be too bad. I wish they could just sell me a pill that would do it in a relaxing way, but I'm sure they can't do that.

My vet comes to the home. Caring for elderly dogs in their late stages of life was one of the reasons she chose to become a mobile vet (after years at Prince Frederick Animal Hospital). She is wonderful..I've known her for many years. I believe she would come to your home and you are welcome to use my name if you would like to talk to her.

Sorry about your pup too, Chasey. :huggy:

When we had to let our Max go, Three Notch came to the house. It was easy and peaceful for him, and he didn't stress or suffer at all. It was hard to come to terms with doing it, but it was the far far better thing to do, rather than prolong his misery. I only wish that option is available when it's my time.

It's never easy to make the decision to let a Friend go. I have been there several times, and wished that when I woke in the morning, my Pet would have been taken in to that good night. I know that you will make the right decision, though no matter what..it's SO hard. The spleen is kind of a useless organ, but if she is an older Dog, it's best to let nature take it's course, as long as she's not suffering. Euthanasia is not painful to the pet, but like you said..just taking them to the Vet is hard enough on them. Whatever you decide, know that we are all thinking of you, and Rassie.

Here we go again. Yoda has kidney failure. Found out Friday why he stopped eating and was acting tired. Poor guy can't walk now. Force feeding, but even that isn't helping.

:huggy:....

Kidney faliure is a hard one. Im sorry buddy

placing a feeding tube and a subq port for fluids is usually the next step.. but as you know it only helps for a little while.

So sorry to hear DR. You mentioned yesterday that Yoda wasn't feeling well. Didn't realize it was more than that.
