So I have this Fandango gift card that was given to me to see a movie at the new RC theater and now I see that they do not accept Fandango anymore! Anyone speculate as to why??
Brandywine does not accept Fandango, only Waldorf. I hate going to Waldorf.Waldorf and Brandywine both accept fandango.

I got two tickets from Fandango, The Martian and Spectre. Was about to order tickets for Star Wars and they won't do it anymore. WTF?

They use movie tickets.com now, but did not give an explanation as to why they changed.
which works just fine as well.
Got to say, I like the RC 12 @ Lexington Exchange.
The location and matinee price makes it very attractive to go to the movies again.
Still clean, still 100% functioning, still comfortable. Oh, place seemed to be pretty damn busy the last couple of days.
Build it, (nicely) and they will come.
Only question left? Who the hell goes to Loews in the park?
I would still go there if they still showed movies during the day on weekdays. They stopped doing that when RC opened up.
I always chuckle when I see local friends on Facebook post how they drove up Waldorf to see a movie. Why would you do that when you have such a nice theater 10 minutes away.
Some are still butt hurt over no recliners, but the seats they have just fine.
I assume the way Fandango nickel and dimes the customer that they probably take a hefty fee from the theater as well. And as you may be aware, theaters make very little money from the ticket sales (for first run movies anyways). They make virtually all their money from concessions ($6 for $0.30 of popcorn...)
At the Mall where I worked when I was a teenager the movie theater had an unofficial wink-wink nudge-nudge policy for friends/family/co-workers. Show up to any movie during the preview role (up to 10 minutes post start-time) and if it wasn't sold out, they would let you in for free. Provided you made a purchase from the concession stand.
Simple. My son has autism and is slightly intolerant of even small crowds. During the week, Lexington Park is seldom crowded and because it was pretty much always the first show of the day; the theater was always clean.
More so than that, the staff knew us and they were unbelievably kind to my son; in fact so much so, that I wrote at least two letters to management just to say how much I appreciated them.
Oh we've actually been to the new theater a lot. (We're both big movie fans). Good suggestions though. He didn't have a problem with the transition because we wait until a movie has been out several weeks and go to the first show during the middle of the week - same as we used to do with the old theater. It's seldom crowded then.
I was just responding to Bernie (I think) that I would still go to the Lexington Park theater but they stopped showing movies during the day time hours during the week. We haven't been mistreated at the RC at all - it's just that we went to Lexington Park so often that they were used to him carrying in a book bag full of his "friends" and nearly all of them treated him as if that were perfectly normal. It's was really comfortable for both of us there. Just a transition that's all - eventually I'll feel the same level of comfort.
