Rear Shocks 1995 K1500 Suburban

I need new shocks for my suburban. I want heavy duty shocks to help with load carry when I pull the troop trailer. Yes, I'm using a weight distribution hitch, but the back end still squats. Current set up is so worn out that the back squats just from installing the weight distribution hitch and putting 100 lbs of backpacks in the back of the truck.

I don't want to go airbags.
Want more load carry than stock.
Would rather not go with air shocks (don't want to worry about an air line breaking).
I am :nomoney:.

Recommendations?

I'm thinking it's not the shocks.

I don't know if it has coils or leaf, but I'd say your springs are worn, and/or you need beefier Springs.

If they are coil (doubtful) they are no harder to change than the shocks...

I'm thinking this too. Metal fatigue. Replace/retension the springs, add helpers.

I've had air shocks and there is no need to worry about lines leaking (unless they were installed improperly), but the shocks themselves aren't great. Very hard to trim when there is no load.

Would THIS face lie?
Bilstein Shocks... I also agree on the springs...It is a 95 ya know...If you do springs, you may as well do shocks too.

Ditto most off the above...Shocks DO NOT support weight.. All they do is
dampen the action of the springs. If you want more weight carrying you need to change the spings. You hitch does not help either, It is doing what it says..Distributing the weight, not changing the amout you can carry.

Thread title was typo. it's a 1997.
Ride has deteriorated since I got it. Very bouncy now, so shocks need replacing either way. I have ordered Monroe Versa-Trac shocks. If this doesn't fix it, then I will go with new leaf springs. Found them for $91.57 delivered.

You can get heavy(ier) duty leafs too..
