What county are you in? Calvert has recycling for bottles, cans, plastic, paper, cardboard, metal, oil, broken tech items, drop off for clothing and much more at all the waste sites. I happen to use the one on Ball Road, St. Leonard.

In that case, depending on where in the Park you live, it's either the transfer station off of Route 4 just west of Wildwood Parkway, or down near Ridge. Nice thing is, it's single stream, just dump all you reccyclables into the huge hopper and go. They also take fluorescent bulbs, and electronics too, up to and including old projection TVs. Motor oil, you name it. All free of charge (well, what you pay in taxes)

I'm thinking unless you are pretty far outside the norm for the amount of metal in your trash, that extra stop inst worth it.
