How much time should you wait till you start getting stuff off the registry that you didnt get at a shower? I am saying we should wait at least 2 weeks- but J on the other hand is saying we should go this weekend. I am just thinking that if there is anyone who hasnt (ie: grandmother, aunt, some other family members) gotten a chance to give me the stuff they purchased.. that I should give them time. Is 2 weeks to long?
I went the next day. If the family members purchased it off of the registry then it won't be listed anymore! You never want to wait until the last minute. You could be like me. Mine came 5 weeks early. Luckily, I had gotten all of the big stuff at the shower. Just had a few little things that I had to go out and buy.

WC, none of what you mentioned is an "oh my gosh, must have on hand when I bring that baby home" item, so there is no reason to spend money on it now. Take the changing pad, for example.

BTW, a hint... I found that one of those form fitted bath sponge things worked way better than a pad on the changing table because the baby couldn't roll or squirm around while laying in it like it could on a flat surface.

pretty black roses
I found no use for a seperate changing table. I always change the baby in the floor, just use a towel or a throw away changing pad under the baby whenever there is a stinkie one to be changed.

They look nice in the room. Oh yeah, they are good for storage too. Changing a baby is that last thing they are good for.

There is just too much junk for babies now. They are pretty much low maintenance. Eat, poop and sleep.....Food, diapers and clothes.

we dont have a seperate one for that matter. That is why we are getting the changing pad for the top of the dresser. Or, maybe I will go with the bath foam thingy now.

Also, don't buy too many bottles. I went through 3 different types before my son liked one. I started out with the doctor's recommendations then worked my way down the price ladder. He ended up liking the Evenflow Classic bottles! A hell of alot cheaper than Dr. Brown's or The Playtex ones!

There is nothing more exciting than having that first baby, preparing for that first baby, etc. I know exactly what you are feeling... but let me tell you... you will be just as eager to do baby shopping for the things you find you are missing after the baby gets here, so there is no need to try to get it all now. Cherish the moment... :huggy: Because when it's time for number two to come along, you won't have time or energy to bother with this piddly stuff... it will never be the same again once this little one gets here...

*nod* You are right. And yes, I will save the other stuff for later. I will just get the little other things I need, then I will leave the other stuff for later.
