Then all of your before and after school kids take away from the Daycares total number and they don't make ANY money on the before and after daycare kids, or I guess you could say they LOSE a lot of money for every before and after school kid.. Parents want to pay 1/2 or less for before and after care, but everyone of them takes 100% of a full times slot and funds..

Hold up. My daughter goes to after care from 2:50 pm until 5 pm. That's less than 2 hours a day. 10 hours a week. I pay $100 a week.

More generalization there bob. I think it's quite the opposite. They make BANK on the before and after kids. Thank you. :huggy:

EXACTLY....

To take your after school kid for $100 that counts against their 1:7 ratio..

To take the after school child from 2:50 - 5 (yours) for $100, they have to surrender a full time child say 8:30 - 5 that they could be getting >$150 for, unless miracle of miracles they have one family that picks their kid up at 2:50 every day.

It seems like you are paying a LOT of money, and you are, but they are losing money by taking him.

Oh, and simple math is not a generalization, it's addition and subtraction.

I'd take 7 after school kids and bank $700 per week AND only have to see them for a few hours per week!

This is not a in home daycare. It is a center. I believe their ratio is greater than 1:7 for school age kids.

not sure, but thought the ratio for daycare was the same..

But whether it is or not is inconsequential as they still lose a full time child, no matter what the ratio is.

It is the same per provider. BUT the daycare centers have helpers (assistants) and they are allowed more kids per room.

I was a SAHM for my kids before their school years. During that time, I would do some babysitting for friends and family members.

Mondays were always HELLION day. Because the parents couldn't (or wouldn't) keep the kids on the schedule we had during the week (particularly for naps/rest time), we had lots of tears and tantrums on Monday. By Wednesday they were back on schedule...

just in time for the next weekend.
