Relocate to Maryland

Tomahawk202

It'll make ya feel good..
We are run by brain-challenged socialist democrats. The summers are hot and humid, we have hurricanes. The police are revenue raisers for the state or after-the-fact crime crowd control. MD will take your money and send it to PG and Balto. counties for the lazy non-working class bum excuse makers who don't work. Mogo county is like little Kali, every piece of crap legislation starts there and spreads throughout the state like a contagious disease. The people here are generally rude and they drive like nuts. We have virus laden ticks and mosquitoes and franken fish in our waters.

God, I couldn't have said it any better myself.!!! :killingme

I moved here from PA/NJ/DE area about six years ago. And I swear, I hate it. I just sold my house, and am headed to settlement next week. Come the 1st of Feb, I am outta here. Felt more like a jail sentence being here, than anything else. I hate the laws, hate the people, hate the taxes and just about everything else. The cops are useless, I am counting the days, until it's time to get gone.......

Maryland......you can have it.! :coffee:

I am thinking that every reply here has some truths to it making it a matter of opinion as stated by others.
If you like a slow life style, Southern Md. is the place. I have lived here since 1981, it has grown quite a bit. I travel quite a bit and it is always nice to come home to. Just as you stated there are a lot of differences that 40 miles can make. No lie, taxes are high and have just been hiked even more. But from the point of view of having options, you can find almost anything to do just by driving an hour or so in different directions. Western Md. Is quite nice as well, pretty much the same deal as far as finding something to occupy your self goes. Good luck in your move.:buddies:

I'm not expecting any place to be perfect. If it were, it would soon be over populated! There are people screaming to get out of Texas, I don't care to know the reasons they have. The fact is so many people complain but never do anything. Would it be great to live in a place with no crime, no taxes, and just great people, YES... but I don't want to live in an Unincorporated part of Monatana!
Belive it or not, we have crime here as well. Dallas has once been called the Detriot of the South. The truth is I don't go the the parts of Dallas where the majority of the crime takes place. Will I take everyone advise into consideration... very much so! Just have to way the pros and cons of every location!

If I lived around Lexington Park like Mousebabay I would want to leave too fortunately I don't.

There is plenty to do here Fishing ,Hunting, Mountains, Seashores. We got it all.
Washington isnt that far if you like the Kennedy Center or National Theater.

Unfortunately we are a Democratic State so be prepared to pay taxes, up the ying yang.

I miss seeing the fields of tobacco, it brought back alot of memories of being raised on a farm as a youth and having been taught what hard work really is.

There are still tobacco fields, just nowhere near as many as back in the 50s, 60s, or 70s. Get off the main roads and you can find them.

I moved here from VA a little over 2 years ago and I really like it here. I got tired of having so many people all around me all of the time and I enjoy the slower pace of life here. I actually live, work and go to church in Lexington Park and have never had any problems at all! I do know it has it bad parts though. Good luck on your move and finding a place to call home!

You left out spearing and wagon loading. Farming is a body building activity. And pity the person stuck on the wagon passing the speared sticks up in the barns.

Yup, thats where the majority of my upper body strength came from along with lifting in my teenage years. You can still find the Amish raising tobacco because they didnt take the tobacco buyout(which now maryland is cancelling 4yrs before the contract said it should go thru).
