Like to sell a print or two? You seriously need to send an e mail to the Osprey Winery in Long Island...sell, sell, sell!

This is great...thanks for the replies...I see there are a lot of "points" and "coves" around there, as well as a lot of woods, coyote and fox any one?
Yes, lots and lots of water - we're quite surrounded, especially St. Mary's and Calvert which are waterlocked on three sides each, with lots of "nooks and crannies" for exploring. Lots of woods (I myself live in a pine forest!) and parklands. There are tons of foxes around (I know - I hear them almost every night), but I've never seen a coyote this far south although I have heard they're in the area.

Down here they have Nutrias everywhere...nasty looking, huge, but I've spent full days right outside of dens watching the little ones swim around. Kind of like a NYC rat with beaver teeth...but on some serious steroids!
:shocking: We don't have nutrias thank goodness, but there are beavers, groundhogs, and the like around, plus lots of deer, skunks, opossums, squirrels, birds, and other critters to watch and photograph. You definitely won't run out of subject matter, that's for sure.

No black bear here, but there are in Western Maryland towards/in the mountains although I have heard rumors of sightings in the area. Same with cougar I believe.

Evening...wanted to say hi from south Texas!
We are moving to Md-Bel Air area in a few months and found this site which has been a wealth of info already! For this we thank you.

There are some amazing images posted here...I can't wait to hit the trail, and to enjoy more images from the area.

Thanks in advance and hope to be able to contribute in some form:)

Enjoy!

I had read of cougar out there as well...we'll have to look up a biologist or two and do some searching:)
We are heading back for work but for the most part family. Found this site through a search, the photography and area images really stood out...it takes almost three hours to drive through Houston by itself, so we're looking forward to 3 day weekends in the south part of Maryland, might get a house for weekend use down there as well. I lived in the Outer banks for some time as well, so really looking forward to the Ches' area again.

We were about 10 miles away at mile post 5.9 on the beach road but if I make it back this year, I'll be sure to make a trip there!

We have stayed in Nags Head, Waves twice, and Salvo. I just love the area.....

They are building up around the Rodanthe/ Waves/ Salvo area. I really hate to see it go commerical.

Oh, I know...just looked at google earth...from the water tower in Nags Head down south for 3 miles to our property was sand in between the beach and bypass roads...used to ride a sand rail there...now, holy cow...houses everywhere. When I was there there were no golf courses on the island either.
