Very believable that people like him get elected. You just have to look no further than those who vote for his kind. They are even more stupid than he.

I dunno, I'd have to see what led to his speech. To me, it looks like he's responding to a low-priority bill, and all the legislative gyrations that go with any discussion on a bill, being given precedence over many, much more pressing issues.
