Some people really can't believe that one would have to take a boat from Solomons to St Mary's County if you attended Ryken or St. Mary's Academy.

Yep, for real !!!!
Before the Thomas Johnson Bridge was built, we had to catch a Navy boat from the Solomons Rec Center to Town Creek Marina (currently Neptune's) and then
catch a bus to Leonardtown.
Some days were mighty cold crossing the river.
