Yep, for real !!!!
Before the Thomas Johnson Bridge was built, we had to catch a Navy boat from the Solomons Rec Center to Town Creek Marina (currently Neptune's) and then
catch a bus to Leonardtown.
Some days were mighty cold crossing the river.

Same thing.. I believe.. Not sure, but I just remember the orange stain, and the plastic or glass applicator...
