AVG 6.0 runs automaticlly every time I start up and no virus were detected.FromTexas said:ARRRRRR!!!!Aye
(you probably have viruses to check for, too. You better check your whole system, and then try again. A lot of malware, joke programs, trojans, etc... will cause problems with scans, etc.
If your scan won't work, go to www.trend-micro.com and run there scan from the website. That will work where a virus or other item has intruded on your system preventing it from doing what needs to be done.)
You need to disable all virus protection and whatever else may be running while defrag is running. If not, it will just keep restarting over and over... Hence 0%...RoseRed said:How long should it take to run a defrag? I started it at 530am and it was still clicking away at 4pm this afternoon. 0% complete. Ran spybot and found a gator and removed it and restarted.

The menu item is no longer functional? Sounds like the adware left its ghostly footprint in your Registry. I believe there's a line in the Registry that can be deleted to make the menu item go away. I don't have a lot of experience in editing the Registry, which can be risky. Google may turn up some suggestions.jazz lady said:I did run Spybot and it removed all the ad-ware. It's just the right-click menu item I need to get rid of and I don't know where to go to do that.
