Removing popcorning on ceiling

My shop vac came with an attachment that looks like a big hollow squeegee. I took the rubber strip off of it and ran the bare plastic across the ceiling to knock the popcorn off and it gets sucked right into the vacuum. A little dust and some particles don't get caught by the vaccuum but it worked great.

Definitely wear a mask. I had big plaster boogers for a couple days after.

Use a deck sprayer, spray small sections of the ceiling and wait a few minutes you should be able to scrape it down pretty easy...

I have actually done this before....so I know it works....

:yeahthat: or rent a clothes steamer. Take everything out of the room and put down plastic. You may need a drywall man to come in if you take off too much. Try not to gouge at the seams. You still need mud there.

:howdy: Thanks everyone. I don't think it'll be too bad once I get started. I'm not sure when I'm going to be able to do it, but I'll let y'all know how it goes.
