I'm new to SMC (only been here 14 years). Does the 5th District - Charlotte Hall area have a reputation for anything other than the farmer's market, the Amish or the (relatively) new stop light at rtes. 5 and 6 (by the Texaco)? I always hear the "Wonderful" 7D stories and was just wondering about my "neck" of the woods.

Hey, you never know -- I'd always been told that if you weren' born and raised in SMC, you're not from SMC. Just wondering if I've missed something...and I'm a little punchy...10 more minutes and I'm outta here!

Here's one for you: I was born in SMC, raised all my life here (except for a few yrs in the DC area), and remain dedicated to this place that I love. However, from what I can gather from "Ark & Dove"-type SMC natives, I am truly not from SMC. Pray tell, then were am I from? It seems that you need to go back a few generations to officially be a SMC local.

Have been in the Charlotte Hall area for the past 14 years. Previously from Southern P.G. County, and seriously thinking of moving back! :jet:
WHY???
I'm from Marlton originally, now I live off Rt. 6 east of Rt. 5, and don't even stop my car in P.G. anymore unless I can't avoid it.

You should. I play golf at the Marlton golf course and there are some beautiful neighborhoods up that way. There are some fantastic new communities being constructed off of Chew Rd. as well. Having said that, I don't think I'd ever want to move back up that way. There's something to be said for the peace and quiet of "the Hall."
