Just got this e-mail;

Good Afternoon Everyone:

This morning Charla Hillyard was hit on her motorcyle while heading to work. The accident happened at the intersection of the Famer's Market. She was heading south and a dulley pick up truck was coming across. The driver did a "california pause" then proceeded. Charla did all she could to avoid the truck but was hit. She and her bike rolled under the truck and ended up in the parking lot of St. Mary's Landing. The driver said he never saw her. She is at Shock Trama Unit. Her injuries are road rash on her arm and leg and a broken pelvis. Her bike is totaled. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

I was told the driver received a 150.00 fine and 3 points on his license.

I don’t know the lady but she is luckier than someone that just won a Million dollar lottery.

OMG - my heart goes out to her/him and family. I pray for a speedy recovery. This is one of the reasons we sold ours. I just could not take the idiots out there anylonger. I only rode locally because I was always too afraid of the beltway on my bike but even around here it was just as scary. People dont look for bikers. We had after market exhaust to make our bikes louder so you woud hear us and they still would cut us off. Please let the family know she has strong support in the biker community and we all say prayers for a fast recovery for her/him.
