Does anyone have any further information about these townhomes beyond what I can find on the company's website? They're located south of the base on the gate 3 road. TIA

I.M.H.O.~They are just like the other communities around here. They'll start off nice and go downhill within 5 years. They have the E.H.O. and Section 8 Accepted label on them. From what I hear, ppl in Cedar Cove started putting their houses on the market before they were built!

They are nice looking townhomes----now-----but as was previously mentioned, they are up for Section 8. Right now there are mostly contractors renting them (they are not for sale, to my knowledge), but I'm sure the rabble will start spilling forth from the other low-income areas soon enough.

I'm a Cedar Cove resident, and I have no qualms about saying that I fully expect the neighborhood to go downhill within 3 years because of this. It's a shame, really.

So how many other neighborhoods have you been the demise of?

So does anyone know if riff-raff has started moving in yet? I'm kind of a temporary person and would probably only spend a year or two there at most.

Touché!

In actuality, it's not a bad neighborhood, Immelu. Many of the units are still under construction, so you never can tell who's going to be moving in a month from now, but as it stands it doesn't seem like there's a problem there yet. It's still relatively clean looking from the outside (I've never been in the homes themselves, but I walk the dogs down that road every now and then).

If you have small children you may want to reconsider, though, as people FLY down that road.....additionally, it's not in the best school district.

I think mebbe it is Park Hall.

I don't think it is a problem with the new townhomes, despite the HUD label on the sign. Some folks in Cedar Cove were concerned, but there is certainly no real flight from the neighborhood. Trust me on this - I sold one house there last summer (don't ask), and am now buying back into the neighborhood.

Park Hall is probably the Elementary School but it looked like they were asking about a Middle School.

Going back to the stars
I went to see them...and they SUCK! the only way you can pay $935 a month is if you and your roommates make less than 400000 per year, and then if you do its between 1175 up...and its the same thing..plus there are no trees...

If you make over $400,000 per year, you shouldn't be complaining about $935/month rent...... :twitch:

Ummm.... Park Hall is an elem school. I should have known that..

Anyway, the houses going in by the townhomes are selling in the high $200s I hear. It doesn't sound like they're having a problem selling them. Likewise over in Willow Woods, next to the Greens apartments, and across the street from a new development that has HUD housing as well.
