I have to say that we went to our favorite crab house over the weekend and the crabs were much the same as what you're saying, light and watery, not the best flavor and smell to the meat. 99% of the time, the food there is awesome. My hubby, who used to fish crab pots said the same thing about this time of year. I think we'll lay off the crustaceans for a few weeks...Sept. and Oct. always provide the BEST crabs!

I bought a half bushel from Thompson's Seafood Corner last weekend and they were great. Even the smaller one's were still heavy.

one bad time does not mean always

I have just read your complaint on Robertson's and other restaraunts in the area. I am sorry to hear you had a bad experience there. I have known the Robertson's and most of their employees for many years and quite enjoy them. If you have ever worked in a restaraunt you would know things sometimes go wrong. Well it seems that you already know this because you have wrote several complaints on them. I don't understand where you got the young male know it all manager. As far as I know Mr Robertson is the manager and when he is gone one of the female employees who is not young takes care of things. As far as crabs go, they shed every full moon, thus making them light and watery for up to 3 weeks after. I'm pretty sure they do not fly in crabs since they only sell them during our local crab season. I understand you had a bad experience, but when I googled Robertson's I saw your post. Maybe that's what you wanted, but I'm sure you have deterred others from going there. You've never had a bad day. If you normally went there and had one bad experience why would you want to ruin potential business for them. I have lived in charles county all my life and am all for the ma and pa businesses these franchises run out. I did not mean to offend you, I am just hoping I can make you think twice before you put something on the internet.

My wife and I went there for dinner last year, never been back and don't intend to go back. That was the absolute worst service / food we have ever had there, and we had been there a few times before, with not much luck, but, with the "benefit of the doubt" we tried again, still worse yet. Cold crabs, and they bring you these 4-5 shrimp every 15 minutes. We did our fair share of complaining and got reimbursed with free dessert and was offered other entrees, after the 1 hour and 20 minute wait, we had to send back every tray of crablegs due to the fact they were cold, and I mean frozen in the middle! Would I suggest Robertson's to a friend? YES, I would suggest to not go there.

Go to Wilkersons in Colonial Beach, awesome service, excellent food, and we have never been disappointed with them, ever.

Gilligans is OK, would go back there again, but, Wilkerson's rules.

Capt. Billy's... If you can stand the wait and the crowded dining, do it.

No, not sometimes... everytime.
It appears that the staff is clueless to the majority of their job.
