Doesn't this sound like something out of a "B" movie?
Sounds like a NASCAR tradition
Think it was Jr. Johnson that got investigated for having an over sized fuel tank back in the 60's. They pulled the tank and he drove home from Daytona to Jackonsville on the gas in the fuel line which turned out to be MUCH longer than stock but it's length wasn't specified in the rule book.

(back then stock cars were actually stock cars)

I hope they don't check my tank.......

It ain't cheating until you get caught:shrug:

which part of the rocket fuel???
But remember, they couldn't find anything with Ryan Newman. He was stretching fuel to incredible lengths and nobody could figure out how...

And in 2002, Sterling didn't break a rule.

After that incident, NASCAR changed "crew" to "team." This is what NASCAR does - changes rules to fit their needs.

Their rule book is written in pencil.
