Rodney King was apparently shot and wounded on a San Bernardino street corner late Wednesday night before biking home to Rialto to report the incident, police said.

King, the 42-year-old man who gained national fame when his 1991 beating by Los Angeles police was caught on videotape, called Rialto police at 11:39 p.m. to report the shooting, said Sgt. Don Lewis.

He had been struck in the face and arm with a shotgun, Lewis said. King reported that the shooting occurred at 5th Street and Meridian Avenue in San Bernardino, just east of the Rialto city line.

After police arrived at King's Jackson Street home, King and others inside appeared intoxicated, Lewis said, and few were cooperative in providing information.

Rialto officers contacted San Bernardino police to take over the investigation. King was then taken to a local hospital, where his condition is unknown this morning. The wounds were not believed to be life-threatening, Lewis said..............

I thought he had a free pass for life.

I wasn't surprised in the least when I heard the news Monday morning that Sean Taylor had been shot in his home by an intruder. Angry? Yes. Surprised? Not even a little.

I wasn't surprised in the least when I heard the news this morning that Rodney King had been shot in San Bernardino by a drug dealer. Angry? Yes. Surprised? Not even a little.

Lets start by pronouncing his name correctly. Its Rotney. No it isn't spelled that way its the way his friends pronounce it.

Poor Rotney, I feels so badly, he is out there on his bike trying to score a little snow and some fool who wasn't smart enough to load up with double ought Buckshot busts a cap in his azz. Rotney has to ride his bicycle home wombded --probably because drunk driving convictions have suspended his license--and call the Honky po leece.

When the honky Po leece show up Rotney is so drunk he cant even tell what happened., What a great role model for America's yout's. A great American hero.

I am not surprised that Rotney was shot ,I am surprised that he hasnt overdosed and died yet.

I dont know who shot Rotney, but I bet a cyber-hundred bucks it wasn't a white guy.
