Rod'n'reel seafood buffet...

Dork

Highlander's MPD
ok here is my review....

We went on Friday and got there about 5:30. We had planned on getting there right at 5 but were running a tad late. I had not made a reservation since there were just 4 of us and we were planning on getting there when they opened. BIG MISTAKE! They were only seating at a few tables and since it is a buffet people can take a while. It took us about 45 mins to be seated and we were 2nd on the list! we noticed that the whole upper level was empty and thought they just were not using it. turns out it was for a wedding party. Wish we would of been told because then we would of understood the long wait. So anyway we finally get seated and start eating. The line was usually only a few people long if that.....THEN the groups came! There was the wedding party and another group in the back room. The line went from nothing to the BACKof the back room. Thankfully we were almost done. The crab legs were great. Not overcooked at all. They also had some buffalo breaded shrimp that was good too. Myself and my youngest also tried the fried oysters which were good and DH had the regular fried shrimp which he liked. We did not try the meat they had nor any of the fish. So overall it wasvery good and we were happy. For 2 adults, one 2 yo getting the buffet and one 3 yo getting chicken tenders and just soda it was $80 before tip. The only thing we will do different next time is make a reservation for 5 AND make sure there are not to many large groups!

As I've said before, if you like fried and breaded, and don't mind spending $80, you'll like the Rotten Eel. My last experience there a few years ago was very similiar. I guess we're just spoiled with real seafood or just prefer something not fried. I'll agree the crab legs are good too but it doesnt take a gourmet chef to prepare those. All of this can be had at Red Lobster for a fraction of the cost. If you enjoy the Rob and Steal, good. Go often and have fun. Enjoy. We all have our favorites. I'll take the fish filet and diet coke from McDonald's next door for about $3.48. The girl behind the counter at McDonalds with all the tatoos and piercings gives the place a certain ambiance as well. I just wish my feet didn't stick to the floor when I went in that place.
