Now there's this guy on Hardball insisting that Arnold is a sexual predator. Those are the exact words he's using - "It's a well-known fact that Arnold is a sexual predator."

WOW! Is there anything uglier than a Democrat who's losing the Taco Bell vote?

Sorry, Bertha - Jackie Stallone is on and her psychic dogs say it's going to be Arnold.
:killingme

I'm finding this whole recall thing to be wildly entertaining!

What I wanna know...

...now that the whole world is getting an extended gander at Grey Davis, is how the hell did he win in the first place? Were the choices that bad?

Watching him on TV I have a constant sense of urgency to look over my shoulder, looking for the headlights he seems to be staring at.

Saw that, couldn't focus on what she was saying, was trying to figure out if she was an example of makeup go wild, or plastic surgery gone wild..

Its almost like a soap opera out in California - you find yourself waiting for the next absurd news grabber to be trotted out on any of the channels for another round of stupidity.

One of the things I find facinating is that this recall effort has been known to be on the books, a statute, law, whatever - for years now, but certain people think it's wrong - heck - unconstitutional!

I've heard it's a vast right-wing conspiracy on the part of conservatives to get Gray Davis out of office! Is that so?

Last I heard, something like 79% of all Californians support the recall; I dont think there are that many conservatives in the state.

If it's true that many of the state folk think the law is wrong, why didn't the Californians draft an amendment to get it off the books?

However, I understand there was a recall effort against Gov. Reagan when he was in office(saw an article on Fox or MSNBC News stating the fact), but it failed.

I don't remember any loud huzzahs or cries about how wrong the recall effort was back then, or maybe there was other, more compelling news to report.

One thing I'd lay money on - if there were some recall going on in Nebraska, it wouldn't be nearly as interesting as all this! What's funniest is that everyone seems to be taking their candidacy fairly seriously. Gary Coleman, the porn chick. The Bustamente crowd is trying to get a debate going with Arnold, which means they're going to have to invite other candidates as well. Must-see TV!

I agree with Bertha. I think Cruz Bustamante will be the big winner in October. Arnold is really messing up, and the other Republicans will just end up splitting the vote up. This bothers me because the media have given Bustamante a free ride out there in California. No one is holding him accountable for any of the state's problems. This is the exact same deal we saw with Kathleen Kennedy Townsend. She campaigned on her years of experience as the LT Governor, but when all of the state's problems were laid at her feet, she suddenly became an outsider who was never involved in the process of governing the state. Bustamante is now saying that Davis kept him out of the loop and he had nothing to do with Davis's policies. Please! If you really did nothing for the last five years as LT Governor, just spent your days doing busy work, what makes you qualified to be Governor? And of your own Governor doesn't respect or trust your abilities, why should the voters?

Davis was re-elected because the full extent of the state's financial situation was not widely disseminated until after the election... this despite the fact that the information was available. It's pretty funny how the California and national media have the time and manpower to dig through 20-year old girlie magazines for dirt on Arnold, but couldn't get around to reporting the fact that Davis was spending his state into bankruptcy before the election. Any pre-election discussions of the state's financial crisis were written off as Republican lies and exagerations. Itw asn't until after the election that the state's major papers and news organs were suddenly "shocked" to learn that the Republicans were right.

There have been recall drives against almost every CA governor since the law was passed. This is just the first one that people have really taken seriously.
