Rosie or Donald Trump

If that was the case they would have already been watching. Folks tuned in out of curiosity, not for the love of Rosie. People liked her until she started up with her political nonsense. She blew her own cover when she became a spokesperson for Kmart (one of the largest gun sellers in the country) while trying to convince us that she was anti-gun, while having armed bodyguards. Now she just comes off as hateful and hypocritical. The fact that she would be so blatantly disrespectful to O’Reilly, who was calm and respectful on The View, while thinking Danny DeVito’s drunken paroxysmal behavior was funny shows what low class material she has become. There is humor and then there is complete juvenile absurdity.

It appears you watch the show and from what I read the ratings went up when Rosie started on the View. I just think she forgets it's not her show where she can control everything and that each person has their own opinion about different things. But I agree, at times she can be annoying like the incident w/Kelly Ripa & Clay Aiken and felt she was wrong there. Bill O'Reilly, I don't like because he is arrogant and thinks he is always right. As for Danny DeVito, I feel Barbara Walters knew he was drunk before he came on so you would think she would have canceled his appearance. Otherwise, I think the show has gotten better since Rosie started on there because they do touch on different topics and she brought humor to the show where I think with the other hosts it lacked it.

Yes, I have seen the show, but I don’t watch it (as in every day or even once a week or once a month). Every once in a while my wife will record it so I can watch some of the nonsense that happens. Aside from Rosie I don’t get much out of a show that has a bunch of women talking over top of each other. The only species able to comprehend such chaotic dialog are human females. :sarcasm: I have also seen clips from the DeVito and O’Reilly appearances on other news talk shows. If I was a viewer I would welcome the humor. Any show like that needs a humorous element. But Rosie being hired for the humor is a ruse. It’s quite obvious her purpose in life is to insert her political invectives. As far as I’m concerned she is on the decline and it will be a matter of time before her audience starts getting sick of her. Just my own prediction.

I definitely think The View is a women's show where men would think it's just a bunch of women talking over one another. I just think when they added Rosie to the show it was to bring some diversity and humor to the show because the ratings had gone down w/the other hosts on there. I rarely watched it prior because I found it boring, but do find it better it now.

I think the whole point of the show especially when they just chat w/one another in the beginning is to show the different views people have based on their different ages, backgrounds, etc. Joy and Elizabeth are just as political as Rosie. You could be right that people will start getting tired of her, but she did have her own show that lasted several years that people did like. Also, when she does something like w/the whole Donald Trump thing, I think it draws attention so more people will watch.

Rosie has a repugnantly juvenile approach to things that, to me, almost defines the ever-declining moral and ethical (no disrespect intended) mentality of our society. Her attitude is indicative of the rampant disrespect we are experiencing from folks out there. In the name of free speech and expression, anything and everything is game. It is born out of our Hollywood and entertainment crowd and we have become not only accepting and complacent to it, but also addicted to it.

Do you work in the field of psychology?

Her attitude may not be the best on TV, but in reality she is a talk show host/commedian there to entertain and keep the audience interested in watching. Look at some of the others on TV - are they really any better? David Letterman and Jay Leno both crack jokes on current events, people, etc. and nobody seems to make a big deal about it. If she frustrates you then why do you watch the show?

I’m not a psychologist.

You just substantiated my point “Her attitude is indicative of the rampant disrespect we are experiencing from folks out there”. I agree the larger problem is not Rosie. It is the entertainment industry as a whole. She is an extreme example and direct byproduct of the Hollywood mentality that if you don’t fit into their little mold you are subject to scorn in the most juvenile fashion possible. They (the Hollywood crowd) alone do not bother me. It’s the fact that our society is being sucked into their disconnected fantasy world. Whether you see it or not Hollywood has a political agenda and it reeks through nearly everything they pump out on the airwaves. When I want to be entertained, entertain me; don’t attempt to indoctrinate me. Of course, on the other hand, we all have minds of our own and chose to watch or tune out. Bottom line you can see in nearly every aspect of our public the growing disregard for each other; the declining moral and ethical mindset of Americans and the cheapening of life itself. I believe our obsession with the entertainment industry is at the root of the problem.

Just wondered because I hold a degree in it. You do make some valid points, but as you said, we all chose to watch what we want and if we don't like it, we have the option to turn it off. Nowadays, I think what the industry offers us to watch on TV or in the movies is lousy -- they don't make good shows like they did in the past.

I will never, ever, eva, eva, eva side with Rosie on anything, her stance on most issues is the exact opposite of mine. She is not funny in the least and is one of the biggest hypocrytes I've ever seen.

I am no fan of Donald either but atleast he is a patriot and told those guys to eff off when they tried to have him remove his flag for flying too high. "Fine me, but those flags aren't coming down"

As much as I disagree with Rosie's approach to things I think she was right about Trumps handling of the Miss America debacle. Trump conveyed the message that rules and laws are made to be broken. Tara Conner didn’t just screw up once; she had a track record of illicit behavior under-aged drinking. When the next crowned Miss America screws up the expectation from Trump will be to give her a second chance, otherwise he will appear inconsistent and wishy-washy. Of course my expectations of Trump are already so high anyway.
