Saddest thing ever

Throwing the deuces
Saw the saddest thing ever today on my way into work. Two baby deer that had to be only days or weeks old had been hit by a car. They were dead on the side of the road. What made it even sadder was there was a doe standing in the grassy median looking towards that direction right across from where the babies were. 😢

I saw one get hit once - staggered off. I just wanted to go out in the woods and find it and bring it home and nurse it back to health and keep it prisoner and love it forever.

On a somewhat related note I wonder how Sneakers deer problem is - I ate a banana for breakfast and couldn't stop thinking about his banana. and the huge flower.
I have hit tons of deer before. Adults not littles. The price I pay driving into work at 4am.

I've come a little close - I've noticed lately with the few that I've seen on the edge of the road that they're hesitating before crossing actually seem to be looking. It's kind of interesting - I guess they're adapting to the environment. Or something scientific like that.

Deer: "Silly hunter. I hear him and smell him 200 hundred yards away and will stealthily evade him with ease."

Also Deer: " Oh look..a speeding car. Lemme see if I can dash in to the road and intercept it."

The reason the chicken crossed the road...
To prove to the deer, raccoons, possums, squirrels.... that it was possible.

The chicken must be right because I've hit the other four many times but have never hit a chicken.

Drive through Hyattsville or Bladensburg a couple times.
Neighbor had ducks that used to sleep in the road so that is as close to a chicken as I got. I never hit the ducks but I would have to stop and shoo them out of the road from time to time.

The little ones are a whole lot more tender than the big, sinewy ones.

While living in Florida, a bunch of Muscovy ducks took up residence along side a fairly busy roadway. First 1 got turned into a road pizza. Same thing the next day. I called Fish & Game and told them what happened. When I gave the location, I was told that several people had already called. But Muscovy ducks aren't protected in Florida. There was nothing they could or would do. I was free to run over as many of those fuzzy bastards as I wanted. Next time down that road I gunned it.
