Yes, the older townhomes in Hunting Quarter are what I was looking at. I'm asking about neighborhoods because I do tend to base the book by its cover and saw "old" and thought scary, versus the last apartment I was in in Salisbury was beautiful but AWFUL!

So thanks for the info.

I have friends that have been trying to sell their townhouse for over a year. They over paid for it a few years ago and are going to take a loss to get rid of it. Why? Because the neighborhood has turned to complete crap.

As a law enforcement officer within the county, I would have to say the best places to live would be Abberly Crest, Spyglass, then the Greens. Abberly Crest I think is the most expensive. Spyglass is good and the only crime really is people leaving purses/labtops in their vehicles overnight. As long as you secure everything you should be good. The Greens seems to have really gone down hill within the past five years. We get calls in there a lot where before we never used to. Again, I've never lived there but I do patrol that area.

Surprisingly, Queen Anne Apartments is good. Most people assume with the location its really bad but we hardly ever get calls in there, except for the occasional domestic, which happens in every neighborhood. I think the management does a good job of screening their tenants.

Hope this helps but again I have never lived in any of those complexes so I'm sure some people have a different opinion.

Thank you, this is definitely helpful. I've thought about the Greens, but can't really afford a two-bedroom in Abberly Crest. Got any info on the neighborhoods off FDR/Buck Hewitt? I'm looking at some places in those areas off Chancellor's

Are you looking to buy or rent? I rented in Hickory Hills for a year, never had a problem. In March I purchased a townhouse behind Greenview Knowls off on Chancellors Run Road. THere are 3 for sale in my neighborhood now. It is a nice quiet area and I love my place. And yes there are appartments across the road from me that do rent Section 8, but because it is in a school zone, the people who live there are well screened. I have alse checked with local law enforcement, and was told it was a safe neighborhood.

Good luck in your search :buddies:

Surely you jest ...
There are still nice places in the park, they are just shrinking.

Please keep in mind that the people from the bad places commit their crimes in the good places. I mean... who robs a neighbor thats as needy as they are? Drug / drug money robberies being an exception of course, but thats among an elite group. Those crimes don't make the news for the most part.

So the whole good vs. bad melting pot is a crap shoot at best as I see it. You have to just pick what seems best and hope for the best.
