Went to Salsa's with the chick and her spawn last night! It was a much better value (ie. cheaper by 15% or so) than Monterey in San Souci.

Food was just as Mexican and atmosphere was very similar. Menu does not appear to be the same, but as someone pointed out, there are only so many options for Tacos, Burritos, Enchiladas and Fajitas.

Food and service was excellent. I really enjoyed it, and will definitely return. Salsa will probably replace some visits to San Souci since it's in a more convenient location!

Warning to parents - they put Mayo on the cheeseburger which is a deal breaker when you're 5, unless someone tells you it's really sour cream. Then mayo tastes fine...

Hubby and I went last night and loved it. Prices were great, portions huge and drinks were strong! Our waitress was wonderful too:yay: Can't wait to go back again!

New Mexican place open in Leonardtown, Salsa's, located in the old Mattingly's Food shopping center. Anyone been? One friend has, says it wasn't bad. Almost identical menu as Monterey, including some of the names of the specials. Wonder if it's the same folks?

The food and prices are prety much the same as Monterey. However Monterey makes much stronger Margaritas.

if you live in the Leonardtown are you MUST try Salsas

my friend and i took the kiddies, there was five of us that ate and the bill total was 45.

that total includes 1) margarita and 2) big ole beers.

our party ordered chicken fajitas, carnitas tacos, mexicana quesadilla, three taco combination meal, and chicken tenders(we had one picky eater)

everything was wonderful. the kids meals are 3.00. that is about what you would pay for a kids meal at mc donalds.

the word is out because the parking lot was packed. but there was not a long wait.

it was so good i ordered take out lunch on sunday :lmao:

try it you will not be disappointed

Went to Salsa's for the first time last night. The food was really good. We got the steak and chicken fajitas for 2. They gave you so much food. The steak wasn't the best quality though. Some pieces has a lot of grisle.

A couple of complaints about the service. The only napkins were were given were the ones the silverware were wrapped in. I asked the server for some more when he brought the food. I guess he forgot. It's really hard to get anyone's attention because they all run back and forth like a race track. I don't know how those servers carry all those plates up their arms so fast. Also, hubby finished his Coke and sat with an empty glass for quite awhile. Finally, we were able to get our waitresses attention and got another Coke and more napkins. When she was handing us the napkins, she dropped one onto my plate with the fajita fixins and offered to take it and bring me a fresh plate. Told her that was not necessary.

Great price, too. Our total was around $21. That was for 2 sodas, the chicken tender appetizer (which were really good) and the fajita meal for 2. The complimentary chips/salsa was pretty good too.

I'll definitely go back again.

Salsa's is very good. However I do like the choice of dips you get with your chips better at Monteray. Other than that I don't have any complaints about Salsa's.
