Country music to me is how Grand Ole Opry used to be, and prior. Singers picking their own guitar, telling a story, sharing trials and tribulations, lost love and new found love, etc.. Think Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, Hank Williams, etc.. Country music today? Garbage. Too many repetitive lyrics. Aka as lazy writers. And tattooed up, prostituting singers trying to be liked by everyone instead of just being themselves with the music. Saw Sam in his 'Rock-n-Roll' stage as the opener for Boston when they played at the Marine Museum, years ago. He was, alright, playing other's music. But nothing to write home about.
