San Francisco's reparations plan will lead to this surprising outcome for Blacks like me

He's not wrong...

San Francisco recently announced a plan that seeks to provide reparations for the Black community. Under this proposal, every eligible Black adult in San Francisco would receive payments of $5 million, elimination of personal debt and tax burdens, a guaranteed annual income of at least $97,000 for 250 years, and the ability to purchase a home in San Francisco for only $1.

The cost for this plan would be $600,000 per non-Black family or roughly $250 billion dollars in total to taxpayers.

This is not a parody; this is an actual proposal.

Every time I hear of this proposal there is more. $5m. Now $5m + a house. Nope, $5m, a house, wipe out debt, and income for 250 years.

At this point it's gone past just being silly to make a headline. I think there must be some subversive element trying to make it as ridiculous as possible to poison the reparations well indefinitely.

It is ridiculous. He's right, it will cause even more division. As a 2nd generation white American woman, I should not be expected to pay for this. Nor should anyone else. I would like to know how they are going to be able to determine who is and is not elligible. How many kids don't even know their daddies? How will they know if they are decendents of slaves?

Can you imagine the nouveau riche and how insufferable they will be? I gots me mine!!!

I don't know why they this is even getting air time. The city will not be able to collect the resources to enact this even if they wanted to, and they don't have the ability to create fake money like the feds. The first time they send a reparations tax out everyone who could afford to pay the tax would simply move.

It's insanity. Plain and simple.

Just sneakin' around....
The only way I could get behind this was if there was a hidden stipulation that it was taxable at 95%. Tax the Rich, right? Fair Share, right?

For your consideration ...

Hey, now wait a cotton pick'in minute. What about all those hundreds of thousands of blacks that were free people? Aka, not slaves. And watta 'bout those free black people that owned slaves? Do the ancestors of these blacks get reparations too?

^My friend Louis will honestly explain that his Black ancestors worked for slavers, and that none were slaves themselves.

My idea of reparations would be $10,000 dollars and a first class ticket on the airline of their choice back to wherever the hell their ancesters came from after a signed document giving up their citizenship, and a promise never to return.

As Louis' parents found out when they went to Africa on their honeymoon 60-some years ago, if you do not know who your ancestors actually were, insofar as Tribe and Location, you are not African to Africans, you are American.

I don't really care what the Africans call them, They are wrong.
These crybaby losers trying to extort money from their fellow taxpayers are not Americans.

What reparations do the ancestors of the soldiers who fought and died to free the slaves get? I am sick of hearing about reparations. It's time to suck it up and take advantage of the opportunities this country has to offer. I myself could not conceive owning another human being and I can't change the past. These individuals need to lose the victim mentality or they will never be anything even if they receive reparations.

Louis is adamantly anti-reparation mainly because he is historically literate and knows, as do I, that slavery ended when the 13th Amendment was ratified near the end of 1865, NOT "Juneteenth."
