San Souci bridal shop?

Okay...I just wanted to report that I did stop by Today's Bride this weekend. Ick! Now I see what the negativity was all about. I understand they are a small business, but I was not impressed at all! The selection reminded me of that of a rummage sale or bazzar with older dresses. They seemed out of date. The dresses were dirty. (Yes I know they were samples of ones to be ordered.) The seamstress was not there, so I have no experience from her. I ended up taking the dress I bought at Davids back up there. They are able to save it by adding a corset in the back. I figured the money I'd have to put out for a new cheaper dress, plus those alterations would be close to the price I'm going to pay for the alterations on the original dress. **** Thanks for all the feedback!

I am new to this town and my sister is getting married this summer. I was on this site looking for a good seamstress who specializes in bridal gowns and formal special occasion dresses. I finally found someone who lives in Wildewood. She has a website and has an online bridal store as well (Exquisite Gowns--Gown Alterations, Custom-Made Dresses, Discount Couture-Quality Wedding Gowns, Bridesmaid Dresses). She has pictures of different dresses she has done as she does not only do alterations. She also does custom made dresses, which I am very impressed about. If someone can do a dress from scratch, she can definitely do alterations. My sister and I have made an appointment with her next week for alterations.

Just this morning, I met a friend who has been here for a little over a year now. She actually recommended Alexandra from Wildewood as she had her bridesmaid dress altered by her. She said that her bridesmaid gown was ordered from Today's Bride and they ordered a Size 10 for her, and she's only a Size 4! She told me that the alterations lady from Today's bride tried to fix it, but when she got it back, the dress looked horendous! She said the hem was not even, the seams were puckering, it didn't look right on her...and worst of all, the dress smelled like smoke! I am so glad that I didn't go to Today's Bride. I did call them a couple of days ago before I heard about this horrifying story from my friend, but they told me that they don't do alterations if the dress is ordered somewhere else. I'm glad I didn't go there. So, hopefully, whoever will read this thread in the future, just watch out. If the alterations specialist is the main complaint in that store, they should do something about it before they start losing their customers. Words do spread around like wildfire. They probably think that won't affect their business.
