I am new to the county and heard that Dew Drop Inn and Toots Bar are happening places to go. Can anyone tell me anything about them...All I know is they are side to side and down Sandy Bottom which is Old Mervell Dean Rd. Thanks anyone for any info...

Yes, define "happening." Truth is, both bars are decent hangouts and the crowd on Fri and Sat and Sun are generally at one or the other and the other one is empty. I've been to Toot's on a couple Saturdays when they have the DJ outside and it's not bad. The beer is cold, anyway.

Beer? (shudder)

Oh, I forgot I am not in the city anymore. I gues Bud is an acquired taste, with a light froth and aromatic beauty. And after 10 of them, like a fine wine, you can't taste it anymore anyway.

Ok, so I drink Hiney and Rolling rock. Guess I am busted.

Heck no you ain't in the city no more. I guess you could get a shot of Southern Comfort or JD if that's your pleasure. They might even have a bottle of Strawberry Hill if you're into wine. I can still taste after 10, it's the 18 to 24 range where I can't distinguish it any more.

Never been in them, but I had heard years ago that both places were pretty rough. I expected to drive by and see signs like "Tuesday is Lynch-the-Pencil-Necked-City-Geek Night--free tire irons to the first 100 customers."
