Who here belongs and what do you think of it? I've been as a guest before a few years back and was thinking of joining myself. I heard it was pretty cheap to join like $100 a year or something. Who can give me some insight?

Huh, I didn't even consider that they might have a web-site. Any personal experiences though?

Can I shoot my pistol there or is it just a hunting rifile range. I'm looking for a good firing range is there one in around?

Membership is currently capped. Renewals being accpeted until 1 May then may have open slots for new members. Currently have a waiting list.

Joining requires sponsorship by two current members. Check the website to see when open shoots are being held. Maybe someone will befriend and sponsor.

100 yard six covered station rifle range. Six covered station 25 yard pistol range. Intenationa Defense Pistol Association (IDPA) range. Five stand skeet range. 10 station competitive skeet shoots twice a year, black powder, .22, high power rifle, sillouette competition. Very active club and very serious about range rules as in no blazing away at soda cans or any ground level target. The ranges are for paper shooters. There is a big swimming area in one of the large ponds and fishing in two others as well as the big one.

There are dead links on their website. I wanted to get the info on the muzzleloader shoots, but they didn't work.

Are they ever going to open any longer range rifle ranges like they have been promising for years?

I have been a member for YEARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRs. Great place. Check out the schedule on the web site and come out to an event that interests you. Whoever is there will give you the info you need. OBTY, I did not see it and could have missed a comment but they have archury (spell checker not on).

Where else can you go to shoot a pistol in southern Maryland? How much does it cost?

Places near Waldorf are preferred.

If they had a 200 yard (or longer) range, I'd join in a heartbeat. Have been thinking of joining for a few years now for the skeet & trap. Are the skeet and trap events that I see on their schedule open to the general public? Do they have the skeet & trap ranges active during the week for members?

There is an indoor pistol range off Old Marlboro Pike, right off of Dower House Rd. (by Melwood). I know it's not "near" waldorf, but it IS a pistol range.

I used to be a member. I quit and joined St. Charles Sportmans' Club when Sanner's voted to ban my 50 BMG. St. Charles member reaction was, "neat gun" sometimes followed by "I wish I could afford one." :lmao:

But, if you are not shooting Very High Power, Sanner's is a nice place. You have to have two sponsors. They have wanted a 200 yard range, but the berms would have to be higher, so it is unlikely.

St. Charles is near Waldorf. We have an indoor pistol range at Middleton Hall and an outdoor 200 yard range for pistol and rifle, plus trap, skeet, and sporting clays, and over 3000 acres leased for hunting in VA. The next meeting is April 5th at Middleton Hall. You need one sponsor.

$100/ year plus one time $400 initiation fee. I wish I know about this place 3 years ago. Wish I knew just how long I was going to be here. I just got exteneded, again. But even if I were only going to be here for one year, I'm not sure I could make it worth $500 for the year...dunno how much I'd actually use it. 3000 acres to hunt on would be pretty sweet though, even having to get an out of state license :blahblah: Hmmm...
