Serious feedback only please. I would like to know what you parents (who take their kiddos to see Santa or the Easter Bunny at the Annapolis Mall) would like to see change with the way the whole experience is running. Such as: Is there a specific employee that you thought was nice...ideas on cutting down the wait in line, break times, use of personal cameras etc..

Thanks in advance.

I only have experience with the mall in Waldorf - but I feel the prices are too expensive. If I buy the photo package it's something like 4-6 pics for $24.99 - if I buy the DVD it's $24.99 for 1 shot and I haggle for 2 shot - enevitably my kids don't always smile....why not let us have the DVD with at least 3 shots - afterall you all usually takes at least 5 to get the good shot. Just seems to me that after waiting in line with 2 kids and trying to keep them pretty and then trying to get them to pose with a stranger and then having to pay so much $ that it'd be worth giving me a little more. Also any little anything for the kid would be nice. When I was a kid the santa set up was like a wonderland - as if we were going to his little workshop with mechanical deer and lights and fake snow and glitter - my eyes would bust looking at everything. Now it's a very small back drop and no prize in the end. I asked where the kids candycane was and they said they don't do candy anymore....come on - give us something. I wish these holidays could be magical again - that would be nice.

Mine have NEVER been interested in sitting on Santa or being near Santa for that matter. :yahoo:

If we went I think the line and cost would be the worst. Maybe a time slot reservation, say 10 children at 2:00pm, next 10 at 2:20pm. I don't know how long it takes to push them through, just a thought, maybe they already do this, I don't know. Also an area and smaller fee could be provided for self picture taking.

When I took my kid to visit Santa last year, I was mortified!!! Santa was wearing decorated red, white & green Crocs! WTF? He should be wearing black boots. End of story!

Nothing compares to the REAL Santa at Macy's in New York City. Every kid should get there at least once, it is a WONDERFUL experience.

FYI, the really nice nursery in Davidsonville?, can't remember the name of it.
They have a Santa every weekend and their place is decorated to the hilt with different xmas trees. I take my daughter there every year and let her choose her favorite tree and take her picture with it. No fees, there's lots of people doing this and it truely is a winter wonderland.

When I was a kid we would go to Woodies in DC. It was like a Christmas winter wonderland. I think Iverson Mall was the only Mall in the area when I was a kid. It was magical, all the mechanical figures....now it is so generic.

I would certainly pay to have those pictures photoshopped and then would send the bill the the mall. Horrific!

What does your story have to do with Santa's ugly Crocs?

Hi. Actually, I do. I am the local manager for that particular mall. I am interested in what I can do, to make things not only easier on the parents, but on the children as well. Prior to working for this company, I was one of those parents in line, kids in tow. Just trying to make sure this season goes by a little smoother..and what better way to find out solutions, than to ask the parents.)

Having entertainment while the families are in line makes the wait seem not as long. The Spy museum did this. The line wrapped around the block to get in when it first opened, a guy did a sort of name that tune game with the crowd.

You could have elves that do magic tricks or a group of them that do a little song and dance.

Also have small benches that line the walkway to santa so that the kids can sit while waiting.

If you want to make life easier - in the kids play area, give us a gate so the kids can't run away. That would be helpful. Also remind stores to accomodate strollers...and when my kids is screaming, have security magically appear with a lolly pop. :high5:

I will pass that onto Mall Management. Thankfully, I am only the manager of the Easter/Christmas set. I think a gated play area is a wonderful idea though.
