Does anybody know how she was murdered? who was expected to have done the crime? Also dates would be appriciated. I searched online for it, and I couldn't find any articles about it.
She was burned in a car, I cannot remember exactly how she died first......maybe strangulation?? She is buried at Charles Memorial Gardens, way in the back, close to where my mother is buried. I see her grave all the time, and think about the horrible way she died. I think it was around 1987?? I will check next time I go..........letyoufall said:Does anybody know how she was murdered? who was expected to have done the crime? Also dates would be appriciated. I am glad to hear her kids are okay........ I know they were very little when it happened. It must be difficult for them knowing that their mom's killer was never brought the justice. Her grave is very well maintained, fresh flowers often, and always decorated for the holidays. Her kids should be proud, they had a very sweet mom, and just like alot of folks she just trusted the wrong person.letyoufall said:yeah. im like best friends with her daughter. and friends with her 2 sons. im too afraid to ask them what happened, because im not sure if they want to talk about it.

The cemetary is the one outside of Leonardtown, right by True Value. She graduated from Chopticon I believe in '84, and killed around '87. I remember it happened in the early evening, a police officer was sitting outside of McDonalds eating and noticed smoke coming a field behind there, close to a barn. When he went to investigate, he saw the burning car, but by the time the fire was out most of the evidence that could have been collected was burned with her inside the car.Speedy70 said:I don't remember ever hearing about this. I'm thinking it was '91, because it was in the news when I moved here. Of course, they may have just been looking for clues at the time.harleygirl said:The cemetary is the one outside of Leonardtown, right by True Value. Tonio said:The sheriff elections in St. Mary's have been sickening for as long as I can remember. Factions within the sheriff's department line up behind the candidates. The problem is worse when the candidates are active deputies. The result is that nothing gets done, because of all the internal politics. At one point, the department had something like three or four unsolved murders on its hands, in a county that probably has half a dozen a year. It's been 10 years and the Sara Sapp murder is still unsolved.
In a case that long has confounded state police investigators, the body of Sara Marie Sapp was discovered about 7:30 p.m. June 26, 1992. Her body had been set on fire using a flammable liquid; her car, a white Ford Tempo parked about 40 feet away, also was burning. The first officers on the scene initially believed the death to have been a suicide, but forensic evidence later contradicted that conclusion. The medical examiner's office eventually ruled the death a homicide, and the cause of death asphyxiation.
Her name was Stephanie Roper.....HillBillyChick said:Gosh, I guess the memory is the first thing to go. I asked my dad and he said that there was another murder, a young woman whose car broke down and 2 guys stopped and beat and tortured her, eventually killing her. That is what made him paranoid about me driving long ways to college.....but neither one of us can remember her name. He did say the 2 guys who did it were caught and that by his reckoning they would have been out of jail (he is not sure if paroled or just out) around the time when I was 30. He thinks. Obviously, Dad is a case for clean living. His memory is much better than mine is....
