I agree with this post. Sarcasm does nothing but muddy the waters, and is a true impediment to communication. It has no place in society and is a detriment to interpersonal relationships, both intimate and professional.

I've always been of the opinion that Oscar Wilde expressed that sarcasm is the lowest form of wit. Because it isn't wit at all. Of course, there's all kinds of sarcastic forms, but it's rare that I even find them amusing or clever.
