I don't know.... 2 1/2 years qualify?

Ask any true Italian if pizza or a pasta as a main dish is considered quality dining. I'm not saying that it is not something to be tried.... just that it is not considered upscale eating just like I posted.

As for Sicily.... the thing I miss most about visiting there was the blood oranges.... Mmmmmm

I know true Italians who eat pasta and pizza. Who cares of it's considered quality dining. I don't go looking for the most expensive dining experience in the hopes of finding good food.

Just like when I went to New Orleans. I had no desire to go to Antoine's or Brennan's. Both overpriced, IMO. We chose, instead, to go on the advice of my uncle and go local at off the beaten path types of places. Got great food at them, too. :yay:

All the Italians that invited me to their home to eat, either lunch or dinner, they always had primo piatto & secondo piatto. Primo is almost always a pasta dish followed by a meat & vegetable course. Then you have the wine, cheeses, fruit plate, dessert & finally digestivo &/or caffe.

:yum: that's kind of how we do it in our family. We do the antipasto platter first with cured meats, cheeses, olives, marinated peppers and mushrooms.... then we have our primo piatto, usually a lasagna or penne a la vodka...and THEN it's the secundo. Capon/lamb/turkey/Italian sausage/braciole with every roasted vegetable imaginable, plus salad. End that with a few chomps on some fennel. Then eventually the coffees and desserts and fruits are brought out.

When my great grandmother was alive, who spoke maybe 5 words of English (one of them being "EAT!! EAT!!"...this was a typical Sunday! Nowadays this is our usual holiday/special occasion.

You'd be foolish not to because tacos made by real Mexicans *for* Mexicans are not the same as what you get here. I'm a huge fan of street food and local eats. :yay:

Salsa's in L'town is the best authentic Mexican food in St. Mary's IMO.....BUT the best Mexican food I have EVER had was in SOCAL. Every dish, every, sauce/salsa, tortilla was fresh-made.....from scratch; well perhaps the exception being the tamale wrappers. The local Mexican restaurants are tasty, but very few things beat left coast homemade Mexican food.
