Don't care for that particular model. Was thinking more along the lines of a new Street Glide or Road King, but have to wait awhile for that one.

Indeed... Street Glide is my pick...

Or course, the wife liked the road king

after expanding exuberantly in the last decade, Harley has fallen on hard times. Now it is struggling against a foe that not even cost-cutting nor brand loyalty can overcome: demographics. Its current owners are getting old, and not enough younger ones are coming up behind them.
So they disband Buell which made sport bikes attractive to younger buyers

"Nobody bought Harleys for transportation"?

mmm.... not... I have 50k on my 07 RKC... My bro has 105k on his 06 Sportster... It was the yuppie crowd that decided they'd look cool on a Harley, that bought the bikes to show off in their garage... Every day you can see 5-6 year old bikes coming on the market with less than 5,000 miles on them... They should have just bought cages.

At a PGR mission last Saturday, I had 22 bikes show up... about 50/50 between HD and metrics... The youngest guy on an HD was probably in mid/late 40s... Youngest guy on metric was 19... The really old fart was of course on a Goldwing...

I want to trade my '99 Valkyrie Interstate in for an Ultra Limited, but then of course I'm a gray-beard as well... and the economy sux... The good news for HD is my kids all want HD as well... My son demo'd a VRod yesterday... as an E3 he's going to have to save up for awhile though!
